More Changes to VA Benefits Coming

Additional higher educational opportunities are coming for veterans.

The VA has announced changes coming this October.

Eligible GI’s will be able to use the Post-9/11 GI Bill for programs such as noncollege degrees, on-the-job training, and correspondence courses, and they will be eligible to receive a portion of the national monthly housing allowance rate when enrolled only in distance learning courses.

Obama Administration Helping find civilian jobs for Veterans

A new program started by President Obama’s aims at helping veterans find private sector jobs.

President Obama said laid out reforms that will better prepare veterans for the civilian work force and encourage employers to hire recent veterans.

Can You Believe This?

In an 8-1 ruling, the Supreme Court ruled the First Amendment protects the rights of a fundamentalist Christian church to use anti-military slurs near fallen troops’ funerals. The court’s vote for Westboro Baptist Church lets stand a lower court decision that tossed out a judgment against the church for picketing the service of a Maryland Marine.
